In earlier posts, I have mentioned the interesting things which are found on the roof of terminal buildings in flight sim products, exampled by the tree in Aerosoft's Kilimanjaro (see http://pcaviatorforu...njaro#entry5055 ) and the plane at Aerosoft's Stuggart (not visible in the product screenshots on the product page on PCA Aust but mentioned at  http://pcaviatorforu...s/?hl=stuttgart and  http://pcaviatorforu...tgart#entry5055 )

I have found another one - a plane on the roof of the terminal building at Aerosoft's Bremen (which is one of the airports in Aerosoft's German Airports 3 at PCA Aust at http://www.pcaviator...55&cat=0&page=1   but not visible in the product screenshots there ):

(the misty effect is via the real time weather facility in Active Sky Next)

The plane is of a type I had not seen before. It is a VFW - Fokker 614 from the 1970s, intended as a replacement for the DC-3 and which had engines mounted in pods on pylons above the wings - see https://en.wikipedia.../VFW-Fokker_614

Hi Gary,

Good observation. I'd say this aircraft is on the roof of the flight sim version because there is actually that same aircraft on the roof of the terminal building at the real Bremen airport too. i have never been there but a google search turned up a few hits for this, including this one which shows a google maps satellite image showing this: http://virtualglobet...rt/view/google/

And a photo further down on this page: http://www.airliners...ead.main/199175

Of course if you want to grab someone's attention, putting an aircraft on top of a building certainly helps no doubt :)

PCA Aust has one scenery product by Emerald Scenery Design - Tetiaroa Atoll at http://www.pcaviator...65&cat=0&page=1  It has rated well on the PCA Aust star rating system, getting an average of 4.82 from 11 voters.

The only other retail store which I have found selling the developer's products is a US one, which has a wider selection of its products.

That other retail store has the recently released Kaghau Airport in the Solomon Islands. Some screenshots of it are available on the ESD website at http://www.emeraldsc...com/Kaghau.html

Is PCA Aust going to stock this new product? The screenshots appear to indicate that it looks better than the Tetiaroa one but, in the US, it is selling for about three times the price of Teriaroa.

The screenshots of the new product via the link above bring me to the reason why I have posted this in this Topic which is about planes on the roof of terminals. Have a look at the plane and the "terminal" building in the seventh screenshot, as one more for the collection.

Despite the last paragraph of my post #3, Kaghau Airport does not earn a place in the collection.

In the absence of any indication from Dean that PCA Aust is going to stock that Emerald Scenery Design  airport in addition to the one product PCA Aust already stocks, I bought it directly from the developer. Indeed, I was so impressed, I bought three of the ESD payware products and also downloaded three of its freeware products.

Compare the product screenshot mentioned in post #3 with what I saw on the ground ie:

2015-12-4_21-5-53-906_zps59sbg6ac.png

See - no helicopter on the roof of the shed!

I tried landing on the roof using the same Robinson helicopter. On the only occasion I managed to touch the roof, I went straight through it. That made me wonder whether the helicopter shown on the roof in the product screenshot has been photoshopped there. Any ideas as to what the answer is?

Anyway, that airport together with the ESD Solomon Islands free scenery:

and another ESD Solomon Islands airport (free) make a great flight sim package.

Hi Gary,

I have Kaghau on the list to add! Hopefully in the next few days. Flat out catching up after Xmas/New Year...
