Gooday

Is there a means of reading Mike Ray's Airplane Stuff on the iPad?

I appreciate that the PC/PDF is an economic means of publication. However it requires the consumer stiffly sitting upright behind  a desktop computer suitable for Flight Sim. It is impractical to do both activities at the same time I.e. flying  and searching for forgotten techniques at the same time. Flicking thought the  pages allows the 'aha, I got it' solutions to niggling problems

I tried without success and I appreciate why the PC/PDF cannot be copied into the iPad as that means would allow multiple copies to be made without charge.

Before I write to Mike Ray suggesting that he publishes for iPad, I would like to double-check: have I missed a technique: is it possible to copy across? I tried many ways suggested to me, but those giving the ideas have not tested their ideas.

I would be happy to buy an iPad friendly disk from PCAA if it is published.

Rono,

I don't have an iPad so I cant say from personal experience, and at the risk of being one of those again with suggestions that haven't tested their own theories, here are some links I found with even more ideas on how to do it:

The people presenting those solutions on those two links appear to be fairly sure they work, but of course, only you with the iPad can verify that for us :)

Good luck!

Gooday

I now have the answer

I can now read CDs of Mike Ray, Bill Stack and PC Aviator magazine on my iPad for reference  while flying, and also when relaxing in my armchair. Plenty of advice available but none of it worked until ,,,

I found that The CD / PDF cannot be copied into the iPad whatever the technique used. It must first be copied into (any) hard disk. Then the PDF is copied into the iPad using the simple illustrated method in

Ron,

Thanks for sharing the solution for other iPad users. Personally these are some of the reasons I prefer Android devices... much easier to work with file compatibilities and far easier to transfer content onto them, but the Apple products have their own merits of course :)

There is a far simpler way to get/read pdf's on an iPad. Goodreader will find the pdf on your network via wifi and you just transfer it and file it in a folder within goodreader. From there you can read it any time.
